| Abstract/Description: | THE COMPUTATION OF KINETIC ENERGY OF RAINSTORM INVOLVES LENGTHY CALCULATIONS REQUIRING CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF TIME AND MANPOWER. TO SIMPLIFY AND HASTEN THE SPEED OF SUCH WORK, A FORTRAN COMPUTED PROGRAMME HAS BEEN DEVELOPED. THE LIST OF PROGRAMME VARIABLES AND THE COMPUTER PROGRAMME ARE GIVEN IN THIS PAPER. USING AN IBM 370-145 COMPUTER, AND THE KINETIC ENERGY OF RAINSTORMS AT DEHRADUN WAS COMPUTED AND USING THIS DATA, THE RAINFALL EROSION INDEX HAVE BEEN CALCULATED. THE AVERAGE ANNUAL EI30 FOR DEHRADUN COMES TO 1066. |
