THE METHOD CONSISTS OF ALLOWING WATER VAPOUR PRODUCED BY TRANSPIRATION TO REACT CALCIUM CARBIDE AND MEASURING THE VOLUME OF ACETYLENE LIBERATED. VALUES BY CARBIDE METHOD IN GENERAL CLOSELY CORRESPOND TO STANDARD GRAVIMETRIC METHOD, 'T' TEST CORRESPONDS TO A PROBABILITY OF 0.66 . THIS EXPLAINS ABOUT 66% OF THE VALUES FROM BOTH METHODS ARE IDENTICAL. |
