| Abstract/Description: | A DUG OUT FARM POND WAS CONSTRUCTED IN 1959-1960 AT BELLARY ( KARNATAKA) TO COLLECT RUNOFF AND RECYCLE IT TO OVERCOME MOISTURE STRESS DURING CROP GROWTH. AN EVALUATION STUDY REVEALS THAT ADDITIONAL CROP BENEFITS FROM THE SYSTEM AS A WHOLE ARE MAXIMUM WHEN 5 CM OF RUNOFF IS APPLIED TO RABI JOWAR AT THE START OF MILD STRESS. |
