| Abstract/Description: | Thrips as vectors through infected pollen transmitting was established. Nature of virus- vector relationship understood. Mode of transmission of virus and role of insect vector were established transmission of TSV by thrips in the presence/absence of pollen : Results indicated that the infected pollen dusted over test plants followed by release of thrips or vice versa the SND symptoms developed within a week. The present infection was ranged from 20-86%.Life cycle of the disease understood. The preventive measure and possible control measures were developed. |
