| Abstract/Description: | ACHIEVEMENTS OF BHAINTAN WATERSHED ( TEHRI GARHWAL HILLS) AND THREE WATERSHEDS LOCATED IN DEGRADED SHIWALIK FOOTHILLS AT SUKHOMAJRIAND BUNGA HARYANA AND RELMAJRA IN PUNJAB HAVE BEEN HIGHLIGHTED WITH RELEVANT DATA AND NUMBER OF PHOTOGRAPHS. IT HAS BEEN STRESSED THAT WATERSHED MANAGEMENT HAS SPECIAL ROLE IN IMPLEMENTING VARIOUS SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION PRACTICES FOR SUSTAINABILITY IN AGRICULTURE WITH MINIMUM HAZARDS TO NATURAL RESOURCES. EFFICIENT WATERSHED MANAGEMENT SERVES THE PURPOSE OF AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT , RESULTING IN IMPROVEMENT IN SOCIO- ECONOMIC CONDITION OF THE PEOPLE. |
