Abstract/Description: | The Well Marked Low Pressure Area now lies as a Low Pressure Area over Westcentral Bay of Bengal & adjoining north Andhra Pradesh coast. It is very likely to move west-northwestwards across Telangana during next 2 days. • The monsoon trough lies to the south of its normal position. Its eastern end is very likely to remain to the south of its normal position till 17th September, 2020. • An east-west shear zone runs roughly along Latitude 15°N between 3.1 & 5.8 km above mean sea level. It is likely to persist during next 2-3 days. • Due to the above favourable meteorological conditions: (i) Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls very likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Coastal & North Interior Karnataka and Kerala & Mahe during next 3-4 days. (ii) Isolated heavy to very heavy falls are very likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Marathwada and North Interior Karnataka on 15th and over Madhya Maharashtra on 16th. • Under the influence of strengthening of lower level winds, rainfall activity over Maharashtra and south Peninsular India is likely to increase from 18th September. • Moderate thunderstorm with lightning very likely at isolated places over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, West Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada and Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam during next 12 hours |
