| Abstract/Description: | With the movement of the Western Disturbance further northeastwards from Jammu and Kashmir, dry northwesterly winds very likely to pick up from today the 25th January and persist during subsequent 3-4 days over plains of north and adjoining parts of central and western India. Under its influence; (i) Current spell of Dense to very dense Fog in isolated/some pockets over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, north Rajasthan likely to persist over these areas till 26th January 2021 and decrease in spatial distribution and intensity thereafter. (ii) Cold Day to Severe Cold Day conditions very likely in isolated/some pockets over Uttar Pradesh during next 2 days and Cold Day conditions in isolated pockets over Punjab and Haryana & Chandigarh during next 24 hours. (iii) Cold Wave to Severe Cold Wave conditions very likely in isolated pockets over north Rajasthan and Cold Wave conditions in isolated pockets over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh during 25th-27th January and over West Uttar Pradesh and West Madhya Pradesh during 26th-27th January, 2021. |
