Abstract

A Well Marked Low Pressure Area lies over Westcentral Bay of Bengal & adjoining north Andhra Pradesh coast. The associated cyclonic circulation extends upto mid-tropospheric levels tilting southwestwards with height. It is very likely to move west-northwestwards across Telangana during next 2-3 days. • The monsoon trough lies to the south of its normal position. Its eastern end is very likely to remain to the south of its normal position till 17 September, 2020. • An off-shore trough at mean sea level runs from south Gujarat coast to north Karnataka coast. It is very likely to persists along the west coast during next 5 days. • Due to the above favourable meteorological conditions: (i) Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls very likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telengana, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Coastal & North Interior Karnataka and Kerala & Mahe during next 4-5 days; over south Odisha today, the 14th September, 2020. (ii) Isolated heavy to very heavy falls are very likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and Rayalaseema today; over Telangana on 14th & 15th; over North Interior Karnataka, Vidarbha and Marathawada on 16th; over Madhya Maharashtra on 16th & 17th and over Coastal Karnataka and Kerala & Mahe on 18th September. Isolated extremely heavy falls also likely over Telengana today, the 14 September, 2020. • Moderate thunderstorm with lightning very likely at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam during next 12 hours.
