Abstract/Description: | The withdrawal line of the Southwest Monsoon continues to pass through Lat. 28°N/Long.83°E, Faizabad, Fatehpur, Nowgong, Rajgarh, Ratlam, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Porbandar, Lat. 21°N/ Long.65°E and Lat. 21°N/ Long.60°. • The well marked low pressure area lies over westcentral Arabian Sea & neighbourhood and associated cyclonic circulation extends upto 3.1 km above mean sea level. Under its influence: • Strong Wind (speed reaching 40-50 kmph) very likely over Westcentral and adjoining Northwest Arabian Sea during next 24 hours. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas. • A cyclonic circulation lies over central Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood and extends upto mid-tropospheric levels. Under its influence, a Low pressure area is very likely to develop over the same region during next 24 hours. An east-west trough runs roughly along 14°N across peninsular India and cyclonic circulation over central Bay of Bengal between 1.5 km & 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwards with height and this trough very likely to persist over same region during next 3-4 days. Under the influence of these systems: • Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls and moderate thunderstorm & lightning very likely over Odisha and peninsular India except Kerala during next 4 days. Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places also very likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh on 20th & 21st; over Odisha on 21st and over Tamilnadu on 19th October, 2020. |
