| Abstract/Description: | Some of the suggested measures that need to be taken care are – (i) harvest mature lac crop, (ii) scrape the lac sticks soon after drying or phunki removal i.e. 15-20 days after harvest, (iii) process stick lac as early as possible to obtain seedlac, (iv) use improved machines/equipments for crushing, washing, drying and winnowing. Special care be taken to carry out effective washing to remove dye content and drying to have minimum direct exposure to sun, (v) Pack in aerated package and store in well ventilated area. |
