| Abstract/Description: | Scarcity of retting water after jute harvest is a common phenomena. Thus jute and mesta retting were attempted in low volume water using ground/ rain water. We could get quality jute and mesta fibre from LDPE lined trenches (1.5 ft depth) in desired time. Jute and mesta retting was also successful in polythene sacks in low volume water. |
