| Abstract/Description: | A study was undertaken to examine the perceived constraints of farmers in adopting intercropping systems in Dhenkanal district of Orissa. A total sample of 150 farmers were selected from five villages of five selected blocks. Four major categories of constraints viz. Economical, Infrastructural, Agro-climatic and Technological were identified among the farmers. The major economical, infrastructural, agro-climatic and technological constraints faced by the farmers in adoption of intercropping system were high cost of crop cultivation, non-availability of quality seeds at the time of sowing, delayed monsoon at the time of sowing and lack of technological interventions, respectively. |
