Abstract/Description: | The important groups of fish cultured in the world are oysters, silver carp, grass carp, common carp and Japanese carpet shell. Oysters contributed 1 1.8 per cent to total aquaculture production followed by silver carp (I 0. l per cent) and grass carp (9.5 per cent). Other aquatic organisms like turtles. sea squid, frogs and other miscellaneous invertebrates also contribute towards the production of aquaculture species. |
