| Abstract/Description: | The large tooth sawfish Pristis microdon of the family Pristidae of Elasmobranch was accidentally caught in trawl net at Malpe Karnataka. The fish weighed about 800kg. This fish is included in the IUCN list and MoEF ban list. Generally the fishermen in Karnataka avoid catching sawfish as it destroys their nets and is considered as a badus omen. |
