Abstract/Description: | Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) is one of the important rabi oilseed crops grown in India. Frontline demonstrations (FLOs) are being organized under the aegis of All India Coordinated Research Project on Safflower with the financial support of Integrated Scheme for Oilseeds, Pulses, Oilpalm and Maize (lSOPOM). The results of FLOs conducted during 2005-20 I 0 indicated that the productivity of improved technologies in FLO plots was far higher than that of farmers' practices plots. The gross monetary returns, additional net returns and benefit cost ratio were superior with FLOs as compared to the farmers' practices. The productivity of improved technologies was more sustainable compared to the farmers' practices. It is suggested to give more emphasis in popularization of these technologies. |
