| Abstract/Description: | Rainshelters are popular in places where rainfall is more. During high rainfall cultivation of vegetables in open condition becomes difficult. Hence rainshelter of 40 sq cm to 100 sq cm are being constructed in different parts of kerala for growing vegetables. Most of the vegetables can be succesfully grown in rainshelter. The top covering material used is UV stabilised polythene sheet of 200 micron thickness . |
| Description: | Low cost rainshelters are constructed using bamboo, casuarina poles. The semi permanent structures are constructed using GI pipes. around Rs.1000/ sq meter is the cost if construction in the present condition. |
