Abstract/Description: | : A 20 year seasonal rainfall data "'as used to estin:ate the runoff spill volzunes and storage voltunes of M'(ltcr in the stnall resen•oirs of micro-H'atersheds by using Surface IVater field Modcl (SIVYMOD). The ivcekly gross "'ater deficits/ surplus ivere estimated by using "'ater balance equation for three different crop activities viz. paddy, maize and pigeon pea. The paddy crop has deficits during entire period of its grob"ing at 75% pmbability. The maximum gmss water deficit of 65.1 mm "'as noticed in 39k B'eck• during crüical stage of.170H'ering to maturity. For maize crop, the marimum deficit of 16.5 mm H'as seen in 34'* week during grain filling stage. But, the pigeon pea lias got no deficits during its critical stages of Dy tnatching total "'ater available in fhc resenoirs and gross n•ater deficits at 75% probability indicatcd that, "'ith the intensive irrigation strategy, •the marinuun area of 2.83 ha for padd)', 1869 ha for maize and 19.02 ha for pigeon pea could be brought under irrigation "'hen these are considered nuuually exclusive activities. H0H•cver, after paddy and n;aize, an area of 16.29 ha and 0.33 ha could be bmught under little ntillc' as rainfed crop in the selected micro-ivatersheds. |
