Abstract/Description: | An off-shore trough at mean sea level runs from north Maharashtra coast to Lakshadweep area. The east-west shear zone runs roughly along 13°N across the peninsular India between 3.1 km and 4.5 km above mean sea level and a cyclonic circulation lies over Eastcentral Arabian Sea off Karnataka coast between 1.5 km and 5.8 km above mean sea level. Under its influence: (i) Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls , thunderstorm & lightning very likely over Peninsular India during next 4-5 days. Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places also very likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & karaikal on 08th; over Coastal Karnataka and Kerala & Mahe on 10th & 11th September, 2020. • The western end of monsoon trough at mean sea level lies near normal position and its eastern end lies north of its normal position and a cyclonic circulation lies over West Assam & adjoining Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim in lower tropospheric levels. Under its influence: (i) Fairly widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls, thunderstorm & lightning very likely over Northeast India and SubHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim. Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places also very likely over Assam & Meghalaya and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim on 10th September, 2020. • Moderate thunderstorm with lightning very likely at isolated places over Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal & Sikkim, Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, East Uttar Pradesh, north Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, North Interior Karnataka and Uttarakhand during next 12 hours. |
