Abstract/Description: | Eight fruit crops constituting 4% of the 194 alternate host plants recorded in India are mentioned. Papaya across all zones and Sapota at Central and South zones harbored the mealybug throughout the year. Five of the fruit crops were off season hosts. Care to be taken to remove the affected parts if P. solenopsis infestation severity is Grade 3 . ie. severe incidence of mealybug on more than one branch of the plant |
