| Abstract/Description: | The normal distributions of Hotelling’s T2 and Mahalanobis D2 statistics are obtained without assuming the invariance property trhough a completely analytic approach. The normal and null distributions of the Wilk’s statistics with two varieties in the dependent set and p varieties in the independent set, when either of the sets is fixed, are derived. It is interesting indeed to find that there is no duality between the two general normal distributions as in the case of only one variate in the dependent set. However, it is shown that there exists duality when the two non-vanishing correlations are equal. |
