| Abstract/Description: | Enumeration of bacteriophages is an important step for studying phage growth dynamics and the efficacy of phage treatments. The single agar layer method involves a single step and was found to have advantages like low media consumption, lower time, easy to perform and clear plaques. The two-step double agar overlay method is commonly used for the enumeration of bacteriophages. The study showed that the Single agar method may be preferred for enumerating phages in bacteriophage research and phage application studies. |
