Abstract/Description: | The lake Pulicat, one of the few large coastal lagoons in the country and the compa ratively small Adyar and Ennore estuaries exhibited unique ecological features. The general physical and topographical features of the lake Pulicat simultanously on the physico, chemicrcl features of soil of these biotopes is available. So an attempt was made in this study to arrive at a clear picture of the variations in the physico chemical characteristics of soil of these eco systems. The specific objective was to assess the level of environmental deterioration of these ecosystems which are major source for several commercially important brackishwater species of fish and prawn.simultanously on the physico, chemicrcl features of soil of these biotopes is available.
