| Abstract/Description: | Due to overfishing of brooders and juveniles, the shrimp and other shellfish resources depleted drastically during the operation of trawlers in west coat. Eventually, the shrimp and other shellfish landings were affected and decreased during recent years. ICAR-CMFRI carried out the sea ranching of these species to overcome the problem and to enhance the marine productivity, replenishment of natural stocks and sustaining the fisherman livelihood. |
