| Abstract/Description: | Existence of 126 fish species has been recorded in Uttar Pradesh. Some of the fishes have been introduced in this state for aquaculture and ornamental purposes. Impact of the exotics on native fish germplasm, with special reference to aquaculture has been discussed. Measures to enhance aquaculture production in Uttar Pradesh have also been enumerated. |
