| Abstract/Description: | The deep water areas at Alantalai--Manapad (Southern Zone) and Vembar-Nallatanni 'fivu (Northern Zone) region in Tamilnadu were surveyed during 1988 for seaweed resources employing 'SCUBA' diving technique. A total of 28 species of algae in the Southern Zone and 27 in the, Northern Zone were encountered. Majority of the seaweeds belonged to Rhodophycaae. |
