| Abstract/Description: | A giant cobia, Rachycentron canadum was landed at Sassoon duck, Mumbai on 18-08-2003 by a gill-netter operated at a distance of 25-30 km south west of Mumbai at the depth of 20-25m.The species is distributed world wide in warm seas except for the eastern pacific regoin. It is pelagic but also found over shallow coral reefs and off rock shores,occasionally enters in estuaries. |
