Abstract/Description: | Photosynthetic organisms are the primary producers containing organic pigments for harvesting light energy. There are three major classes of microatgal pigments, Chlorophylls, Carotenoids and Phycobilins. Chlomphylls are green pigments and Carotinofds are yellow or orange pigment, which i s lfpophillc and associated in chlprotein complexes while phycobitins are hydrophitic. |
