dc.description.abstract | When cultures of Pleurotus sajor-caju, Agaricus bisporus, A.bitorquis, Cladobotryum dndroides, Mycogone perniciosa and Botrytis cinerea were exposed to formalin (1 to 4%) for 6 to 24 hours, cent per cent inhibition in the mycelial growth of Agaricus spp., C. dendroides and M. perniciosa was observed at all the conentrations and exposure periods tried. Two and four per cent concentrations of formalin also resulted in 100 per cent inhibition of P.sajor-caju and Botrytis cinerea at all the exposure periods. Drenching of mycelial discs with formalin (0.5-2.0%) resulted in 76.3-100, 100, 22.5-10.0, 62.5-100 and 12.5-100 per cent inhibition of the mycelial growth of P.sajor-caju, Agaricus spp., C. dendroides, M.perniciosa and Botrytis cinerea, respectively. | en_US |
