Abstract/Description: | The experimental materials consist of ten genotypes of three types viz., Set-I mother rhizome (20 to 25 g), set-II primary rhizome (10-15 g) and set-III secondary rhizome (5 to 10 g) grown under traditional planting method as well as PROTT techniques in a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications. The mean rhizome yield of traditional planting of 20-25 gm size of mother rhizome is equal to rhizome yield of 10-15 gm size of primary rhizome find strongly make use of primary rhizome for planting purpose. When mother rhizome (20-25 g), primary rhizome (10-15 g), and secondary rhizome (5-10 g) transplanted at 45 days in the same way performed for rhizome yield, plant height, tillers per plant, leaf per plant, leaf length, leaf breadth and stem girth which confirmed effectiveness of different size of planting materials for commercial cultivation by using PROTT technique. Mother rhizome and primary rhizome of turmeric is best planting materials which recorded higher rhizome yield in traditional planting method as well as PROTT technique. |
