This study presents the success story of the adoption and diffusion of improved chickpea short duration varieties in southern India. The experience in the state of Andhra Pradesh particularly exemplifies evidences that adoption of technologies significantly enhanced agricultural productivity and total welfare gains in both traditional and non-traditional chickpea growing regions.
