| Abstract | Some cyclic tellurides, namely, 1-telluracyclopentane, 1-telluracyclohexane, 3,4-benzo-l-telluracyclopentane and 3,5-naphtho-1-telluracyclohexane have been studied as donors towards 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyano- 1,4-benzoquinone (DDQ). The donor behaviour of 4-5-{1,8-bis(thiomethyl) naphthalene}- 1,3-dithiole-2-thione towards tetracyano-p- quinodimethane (TCNQ) has also been investigated. IR, UV and ESR data suggest that the complexes have significant ionic character and are not molecular in nature. |
