Description |
In an aquatic pond ecosystem different microbial communities are involved in the recycling of organic materials. The bacterial communities involved in the organic decomposition and nutrient cycling in ponds with manure applications of: (i) cow manure at 10 t/ ha/ yr; urea at 100 kg N/ha/yr and single super phosphate at 50 kg P/ ha / yr ; (ii) biogas slurry at 30 t /ha/yr with supplementary feed were assessed over a period of 15 months . Populations of selected bacterial communities were assessed in the fish Pond ecosystems to assess the levels of substrate utilization. |
