Description |
It is shown that the transport in the ferromagnetic metallic phase in both magnetite and manganites is through correlated polarons for which the activation energy for transport vanishes. The active longitudinal phonon mode which leads to the formation of polaron and accounts for the peculiar temperature variation of resistivity in the metallic phase is shown to condense at the Verwey transition in magnetite and at the charge ordering temperature in manganites accounting for the first order transition in these systems.
