Description |
FACTS devices can improve the operation of power systems by fast and reliable control. In this context, there is a need for analytical tool for evaluating the effects of FACTS devices in a power system. This paper describes the modeling of FACTS devices and incorporation of these models in a transient stability program based on the SIMULINK toolbox of MATLAB, which integrates the functions of simulation, linearized analysis, and controller design.
