Description |
This paper presents a finite-volume discretisation procedure for the solution of Navier-Stokes equations on colocated structured and unstructured grids using the well known SIMPLE algorithm. In particular, the pressure correction equation is considered in detail to demonstrate that checkerboard prediction of pressure can be prevented by employing algebraic pressure smoothing [4] that is very simple to implement on both type of grids. Results from well known problems have shown excellent accord with the expectation.
