Description A PC/AT (Intel 80286 based) controlled transistorized inverter with programmed PWM technique for induction motor speed control is discussed. The switching angles for eliminating unwanted harmonics up to 600 Hz are predetermined such that the immediate dominant voltage harmonic is minimized. The realization aspects of the above technique and the method by which closed loop speed control is achieved are described. The performance features of the developed prototype are described by presenting the relevant waveforms obtained experimentally.
