Description |
This paper reports the observations made while developing an electroless gold (ELG) bath using benzyl alcohol as the reducing agent. Once the substrate surface becomes covered with gold, continuation of the process relies on the gold to catalyze further deposition. Before this bath can be described as truly autocatalytic, it must be capable of depositing gold on a gold substrate.
