Description A photoelectrochemical solar cell from camphoric p-carbon semiconducting pellet has been developed for the first time from the soot of a natural source, camphor. This semiconducting camphoric carbon is unusually stable both in acidic and alkaline media. Preliminary findings show that the semiconductor has band gaps (E(g) 2.28 eV direct and 1.28 eV indirect) suitable for solar energy conversion. PEC properties are also being discussed.
