Description |
India has 14 major languages, whose scripts are far more complex than that of English. Due to the implementational difficulties, English usage is still dominant. With the evolution of phonetic keyboard and codes, the human and computer interface bottle-neck got removed. After developing dedicated solutions, the accent has now shifted towards developing systems which would allow the existing software to be used along with Indian scripts. It is now possible for existing English desk-top publishing packages to be used along with Indian scripts. The future lies in increasing use of required standards for Indian scripts with existing computer software, and covering applications like, Teletext, Videotext, speech synthesis/recognition.
