Description |
This paper reviews the concepts that have emerged in the area of spontaneously formed worm-like micelles and vesicles in cationic and anionic surfactant mixtures. The use of Rheology, Light scattering, Fluorescence Recovery After fringe Pattern Photobleaching (FRAPP) and Transient Electric Birefringence in characterizing worm-like micelles is described. Methods of interpreting the data and extracting relevant parameters like micellar breaking time and elastic moduli are illustrated by citing some examples.
