An analysis of varactor-tuned oscillators (VTO) for bandwidth estimation is described. The advantage of using two varactors in a tuning circuit is discussed. It is shown that when VTO consists of two series-tuning varactors, it is possible to broad-band the tuning ratio by using a varactor in the feedback circuit.
