Description |
The multiport network model (MNM) has been risen to analyze rectangular microstrip antennas (RMSAs) excited at their second and third-order modes. A diagonal-fed nearly square MSA excited at its second-order mode yields a conical pattern in both the phi = 0 and 90 degrees planes. An RMSA excited at its third-order mode yields a broadside radiation pattern. The theoretical results obtained from the MNM have been compared with those obtained from commercially available method-of-moments (MOM)-based software and measured results. (C) 2000 , Inc.
