Description |
Effects of chip resistor loading on the bandwidth and efficiency of a rectangular microstrip (RMSA) have been invesigated. A single chip-resistor-loaded RMSA gives broadband dual-frequency operation with broadside radiation. An RSMA with two chip resistors placed symmertically about the feed point gives a conical radiation pattern besides being compact and broadband. The antennas have been analyzed using a multiport network model(MNM), followed by experimental verifications. (C) 2000 , Inc.
