Description |
Reaction of ethylbenzene, alkylation of toluene with methanol and that of ethylbenzene with ethanol have been studied on the medium pore, high silica zeolite KZ-1 under varying experimental conditions. The zeolite showed a stable catalytic activity and verv high selectivity for the formation of para-dialkylbenzenes. The results suggest that the zeolite KZ-1 has a unidimensional channel structure with ten-membered ring opening, possibly with elliptical shape.
