Some structural properties of energy eigenfunctions of two electrons in a simple harmonic potential are analyzed. Simple expressions are obtained for the energy spectrum based on a model potential, and on a model wave function. These expressions give accurate values for the energy eigenvalues and provide a physical insight into their structure.
