Description |
A correction to the Cox and Strack curve for finite resistance of a contact metal on semiconductors was considered. Here we present the calculated resistance vs the inverse radius curve for different resistance values of the contact metal and for different values of the specific contact resistivity. For the first time we show that this resistance can have a moderate to a large effect on the curve in terms of its values and nature which can be misleading because of the non-parabolic behaviour. We also present a set of universal curves for the convergent value of the measured resistance for large dot size as a function of the contact parameters-specific contact resistivity, contact metal resistance and probe radius.
