Description |
Chalcogenide derivatives of triphenylphosphole (oxide (1), sulfide (2) and selenide (3)) were synthesized and characterized by X-ray diffraction studies. Intermolecular interactions were observed in the bulk molecular packing in terms of hydrogen bonding for 1 or pi-pi stacking for 3. One of the useful applications of the chalcogenide derivatives of triphenylphosphole has been demonstrated utilizing the photophysical properties of 1 to detect aromatic nitro compounds through fluorescence quenching.
