Description The present study is an extensive research of the impact of Sridharanandji s Atma Vidya Parishilana Yoga on psychological variables before and after meditation as an intervention to software professionals. To face the modern day stress filled anxiety flooded world of IT [Information Technology] it is difficult for a professional to lead a stress free life without any extra care taken to maintain physical and mental balance and this balance can be achieved very easily through the practice of special meditation technique of Sridharanandji. Thus the purpose of this research was to see its effect on psychological variables. Some of the psychological variables such as alienation, emotional quotient, depression, locus of control and personality of software professionals were measured through appropriate questionnaires and scales before introducing them to Sridharanandji s technique of meditation. Thereafter the open eye technique of Sridharanandji was given to software professionals. The software professionals were psychologically prepared to practice meditation regularly at early morning hours. After three months the psychological variables were measured again and some of the significant changes were noticed such as reduction in feeling being alienated, enhancement in internal control, decreased depression, improved emotional balance and improved overall personality after the intervention in software professionals.
