Description |
This data set was collected as part of Global Futures Project to assess climate change impacts and potential benefits of drought and heat tolerance in chickpea in South Asia and Eastern and Southern Africa using DSSAT crop modeling suite. This minimum data set contain experimental yield trail data, weather data and soil information required to calibrate chickpea cultivars from different regions in Asia and Africa. The experimental yield trail data contains chickpea data collected from different regions in India like the North West Plains Zone (NWPZ), Central Zone (CZ) and Southern Zone (SZ). All these data sets have gone through the selection process to decide the most probable chickpea varieties to be used for simulation considering number of years of data availability, soils and weather data availability. The weather data have been collected for 22 locations from NASA site and 10 locations from NOAA sites. These are interpolated data sets, need to be combined for a site to overcome the deficiencies of one another. Need to be checked for suitability. The soil data derived from NBBS bulletins (Nagpur) and Wise data base. Multiple data sets for a location (general area) need to be checked for their suitability and parametrization. These are raw data sets collected, which will be used for creating soil, crop, and weather data files suitable for use in the DDSAT crop model.
