Description |
Random sampling was done in four districts of Northern Tanzania namely Kondoa, Karatu, Babati and Arameru. From each these districts three major pigeon pea growing divisions were selected and two wards were surveyed from each of these divisions. Twenty five farmers were then randomly sampled from a list of farm families in each village and ward. A total of 613 households were surveyed in collaboration with Selian Agricultural Research Institute (SARI) between November and December 2008.
